Instructions for presenters

All NCGP2024 congress presentations are held onsite in Turku. All presentations taking place in the main lecture hall (Logomo-hall) will be live streamed and recorded, and thus available for online participants to follow. All keynote lectures and also some parallel session symposiums will take place in the main lecture hall. The main lecture hall recordings will be available on the virtual congress platform for 2 weeks after the congress for participants to view.

Congress abstracts will be published in the congress programme and abstract book (PDF), available for the congress participants on the congress platform. All registered participants will receive a link to access the virtual congress platform (Oxford Abstracts) closer the congress dates.

Please note that all presenters must register as a NCGP2024 congress participants and pay the registration fee by 31 March 2024. Registration must be completed through the online registration form, link available here.

Oral abstract presentations

Guidelines for oral abstract presenters


Oral presentations are grouped into sessions. Please see the congress programme for your presentation slot.

The oral presentation time is 10 minutes + 5 minutes for questions from the audience. Each session has a chairperson.

Presentation materials

Prepare your presentation and save it in PowerPoint (PPT/PPTX) format. Please name the file with the presentation day, session number, presenter’s last name and presenter’s first name (e.g. Wednesday_O2._Jones_Lisa). Session numbers can be found in the online session programme.

File requirements
  • File type: PowerPoint (PPT/PPTX)
  • Aspect ratio: 16:9
  • Fonts: please use standard fonts
  • Videos: Embedded to your presentation (in addition, it is recommended to upload a copy of videos as MP4 files)

Be aware of copyright when using media.


Submitting presentation materials in advance

Please upload your presentation in advance, the very latest by 5 June to DriveUploader. Link to Uploader will be sent via e-mail by 22 May.

At the congress, your presentation will be ready on the lecture room computer. Presentations will be deleted from the computers afterwards.

Submitting presentation materials in Logomo

Presenters can also bring their presentation on a USB flash drive to our drop-in station at the congress venue, where the presentation will be transferred to the lecture room computer.

The drop-in station is located in the main lobby, near the registration desk. The drop-in station is open on Wednesday-Friday during the scientific programme hours. Please deliver your presentation well in advance – preferably the day before your presentation.

Please note that own computers cannot be used to avoid technical problems.

A congress assistant will be present in the lecture room to help presenters. Please arrive to the lecture room preferably 10 minutes before the start of your session.

Poster presentations

Guidelines for poster presenters


Posters will be presented onsite at the congress venue. The poster size is A0 in portrait orientation.

All posters can be on display during the whole duration of the congress, but presenters are divided into 2 groups:

  • Group 1, Wednesday, 12 June: poster presenters are asked to be by their poster to answer question during the second half of the lunch break on Wednesday, as well as during the afternoon coffee break.
  • Group 2, Thursday, 13 June: poster presenters are asked to be by their poster to answer question during the second half of the lunch break on Thursday, as well as during the afternoon coffee break.

Please check your poster group from the congress programme here. Groups can be found in the programme under the Wednesday and Thursday lunch breaks.

Mounting/dismounting:

Posters can be mounted beginning on Wednesday, 12 June at 8.00 onwards. Pins will be provided at the poster area. Poster boards will be numbered and a poster list will be available at the poster area.

All posters must be dismounted by the presenter at latest by 13.30 on Friday, 14 June. Please note that the poster presenters are responsible of dismounting their posters. No poster will be retained nor sent to their owner after the congress.

In addition, there is an option for an electronic poster in the congress platform. Electronic poster is 1-page PDF-file.

Electronic posters will be uploaded on the virtual congress platform, to online poster gallery, accessible to all congress participants (also for two weeks after the congress).  Link to upload the electronic poster file has been sent on 20 May for poster presenters. Please upload the electronic poster as a PDF file by 3 June 2024.

Print your poster in advance

NCGP2024 poster presenters are offered the possibility to order a printed poster from local copy shop in Turku, and the poster will be delivered to the congress venue Logomo.

Poster printing prices:

  • Paper poster, size A0, 140g, full colour: 35 EUR
  • Textile poster, size A0, polyester canvas (pvc-free), full colour: 45 EUR
    Prices include VAT 24%

Place your poster print order via the printing order form here at the very latest by 31 May 2024. Payment is made upon ordering (credit card or online bank payment).

The poster is uploaded on the form as a PDF file, please make sure the poster is in the correct size (A0). Please name the file with the poster presenter’s name and the poster number (e.g. Jones_Lisa_P1.2). Poster numbers can be found on the congress programme.

Workshops

Guidelines for workshop presenters


Workshops are self-organised sessions, chaired by the workshop organiser.

The length of a workshop is 90 minutes. (except for Thursday afternoon session at 15.15-16.30, length 75 minutes). Please see the congress programme for your workshop slot. The workshop organiser must follow the assigned timetable in order to keep the overall congress programme on schedule.

Presentation materials

Prepare your workshop presentation material and save it in PowerPoint (PPT/PPTX) format. Please name the file with the presentation day, workshop number, presenter’s last name and presenter’s first name (e.g. Wednesday_WS3._Jones_Lisa). Workshop numbers can be found in the online session programme.

Please note that there are separate instructions for presenters of symposiums to be held in the main lecture hall, in a separate section below.

Symposiums (held in the main lecture hall)

Guidelines for main lecture hall symposium presenters


Symposiums held in the main lecture hall will be
live streamed to online participants as well as recorded. Due to the live streaming, all presentation materials are required in advance for technical reasons. This applies to the symposiums listed below. Please upload your presentation the very latest by 5 June, see further instructions below.

The live stream can be viewed via a virtual congress platform where also the recordings will be available for 2 weeks after the congress for participants to view. Only congress participants will have access to the platform.

These symposiums will be live streamed and recorded:

Due to the live streaming, all presentation materials are required in advance for technical reasons.  Kindly upload your presentation in advance, the very latest by 5 June to DriveUploader. Link to Uploader will be sent via e-mail by 22 May.

Presentation will be uploaded to lecture hall computer before your lecture. Own computers cannot be used to avoid technical problems.

Technical team and congress assistants are ready to assist you in the lecture hall during the scientific programme. Please arrive to the lecture room preferably 30 minutes before the start of your session.
