Practical information

Pre-Congress for Young Doctors will be arranged on 10-11 June 2024 in Turku, Finland. The pre-congress venue is Medisiina building on Turku University Hospital campus within easy reach by public transport and close to the city center. We encourage you to come by bus, train, foot, or bike – parking spaces are limited.

We recommend to make hotel reservation well in advance as the month of June is busy time of the year for the hotels in Turku. More information of the congress hotels can be found here.

Are you curious to see a Finnish GP in their day-to-day work? Dive into a clinical visit for the morning of June 10th!

We are hoping to offer the possibility of a clinical visit to as many of our international participants as possible, but places are limited and will be filled in order of sign-up. Clinical visits will be conducted at diverse health care centers in the Varha (Wellbeing services county of Southwest Finland) area by volunteer doctors, respecting doctor-patient confidentiality. 

Those not participating in the clinical visit can spend the morning exploring our host city Turku and we will all be meeting us at Medisiina from 11 a.m. for registration and lunch at Flavoria restaurant at Medisiina.

The evening get-together on Monday, 10 June takes place in a laid-back forest cabin at Kavalton tila (Kavalto estate). A bus from Medisiina will leave at 17.30 and we will continue to share ideas and experiences across the Nordic countries during an evening of activities and networking. A light pescatarian buffet will be served and there is an option for a smoke sauna and swimming. Bring comfortable shoes, weather appropriate clothing and a bathing suit if you feel like going to sauna! Bus transport back to Turku will be offered. If you wish, you may continue your evening along the banks of the Aura river.
